Meet the Interns
Tetyana Ryabtseva
Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania – Junior, Finance & Data Science
Team: Trading Operations
Tetyana took on several impactful projects, including analyzing demand and competitor strategies on existing pipelines, building an AI agent to optimize daily operations, and researching new pipelines for trading opportunities. One of her key achievements was helping to launch operations on a new pipeline, which required extensive cost and logistics analysis. Through this experience, she developed her technical expertise in Python, SQL, Excel, and pipeline-specific software while learning to problem-solve under time pressure.
“This internship opened my eyes to how dynamic physical trading really is, and gave me the freedom to explore the parts of the energy market that excited me most.”

Ishani Tandon

University of Texas at Austin – Senior, Math & Economics
Team: Trading Operations
Ishani’s work with the trading operations team included setting up pipelines, maintaining profit and loss models, and building analytical tools for traders. She collaborated with multiple teams to explore new avenues for gas flows, improving her data analysis, research, and model development skills. The internship provided her with a comprehensive view of the natural gas trading industry and the importance of cross-functional collaboration.
“A great learning experience—challenging, rewarding, and a solid step forward in my growth.“
Sonny Wang
Harvard College – Junior, Mathematics
Team: Strategic Ventures – BetterGas
Sonny joined the Strategic Ventures team focusing on BetterGas, where he worked with tools like Excel, Python, and AI-assisted platforms. His projects gave him first-hand experience in the natural gas industry, particularly around developing a new product.
During the internship, Sonny refined his coding, research, and communication skills while becoming proficient in PowerPoint presentations and Excel-based analysis.
“This experience has helped me transition into a better professional.”

Anay Mahajan
New York University – Junior, Economics
Team: Northwest Trading
Anay focused on analyzing natural gas market trends in the Northwest US and Canada. He helped develop trading strategies based on pricing trends, pipeline flows, and weather data, while also assisting in the execution of real-time transactions.
His projects improved his teamwork and problem-solving skills and gave him deeper insight into the complex regulations and infrastructure challenges in the natural gas market.
“I was surprised by how many barriers there are to entering the natural gas market, from regulations to infrastructure challenges.”
