Outgoing and adventurous, Cloie is a cat-lover and foodie who is committed to saving our planet.

Meet Cloie, an Accounting Analyst at CarbonBetter. She’s our resident cat-lover and espresso drinker! Not only has she been working hard during tax season, but she’s also helping with the CarbonBetter TikTok channel, where she plays a big role with her vibrant energy. Her day-to-day tasks can vary, but her monthly tasks stay rather consistent: she reconciles bank activity and sale centers every Wednesday, and she begins invoicing on the 10th of each month. Her main goal is to stay accurate and proactively communicate with CarbonBetter’s counterparties as it’s crucial to business operating smoothly. Contrary to popular belief, there is really never a dull moment in accounting! Let’s get to know Cloie!

Cloie, what do you love about working at CarbonBetter?

I love working at CarbonBetter because not only do I get to be around a community that shares the same vision as me, I am so lucky to be in a group that truly cares for each other. This creates a wonderful dynamic where everyone is heard and always there for one another. The industry is always evolving and growing – and I am blessed to have a front-row seat.

What does your day-to-day look like at CarbonBetter?

I always start my day with a cup of espresso (or two) and complete my daily tasks of emails, payments, and so on. I love having a checklist every day that I can mark off as I complete my tasks. Around lunchtime, we will usually stop at a local food truck around Cesar Chavez and take a little break. After lunch, the rest of the day goes by fairly quickly and I always end my day feeling blessed and excited to see what the next day brings.

Do you have any personal or professional goals that you’d like to share?

My current professional goal is to go as far as I can with CarbonBetter and make a difference for the planet, while my personal goal is to not only be as green as I can but to help others realize how much impact they can make. Some other goals include owning a motorcycle and a crawfish food truck by the end of 2022.

“RECYCLE! 🙂 I love clean makeup, reusable makeup wipes, tote bags for groceries, eco-friendly fashion, and more. Growing up in a city where recycling was not a major habit, it is crucial for me to try and do as much as I can for our planet and future generations.”

Where did you grow up? What's something interesting about your hometown?

I grew up in Beijing, China until I was seven years old and moved to Houston TX. I loved going to high school in Houston, especially since there was so much school spirit and dress-up days every Friday. In 2016, I moved to Louisiana for college as my dad's family was located there. I am a proud Geaux Tigers fan forever!
