Meet Imani, an Operations Analyst at CarbonBetter. Imani joined the team in 2021 and her energy and enthusiasm are felt everywhere she goes. Imani’s team is responsible for ensuring our natural gas customers have the energy supply they need to run their businesses every day. Her mornings consist of scheduling gas for the next day and communicating with counterparties to confirm volumes needed. During her afternoons she’s typically reconciling financials, pathing the gas she’s scheduled, and troubleshooting issues that have come up throughout the day. She reports there’s never a dull day! There are always new challenges to tackle and new concepts to learn, and she loves the support she gets when she overcomes those challenges. Let’s get to know Imani! Imani, where did you grow up?
I was born in Detroit, MI, lived in Jacksonville, FL for a few years, then back to Detroit, and finally landed here in Austin, TX in 2010. Detroit is the home of Motown Music and Ford cars!
What is your favorite spot or activity in Austin?
I really like going to Mount Bonnell to write.
What’s something that people are usually surprised to learn about you?
I’ve published 3 books and I write poetry.

What are some of your hobbies?
I write and I'm currently getting into kickboxing. I also play video games (Nintendo is the console of choice).
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them!
I have 3 dogs of my own and my roommate has a dog, too! So with 4 dogs and 4 turtles, my home is a zoo.
